Advantages and Disadvantages of Commercial mixed Farming
Production level is lower compared to monoculture.
The ideal harvest time and growth rate are different for
different crops.

Animals that are not adequately contained or chained can be dangerous,
also Seeds of two crops are mixed before sowing and there is no definite
pattern for sowing the seeds. (ii) Products of different crops are harvested,
threshed, marketed and consumed in mixed form.
Advantages of Commercial mixed farming:
If managed well, a mixed farming system can provide a number
of benefits including increased self- sufficiency of feed, more efficient
nutrient cycling, greater provision of ecosystems services such as biodiversity
and conservation of non-renewable resources (e.g. fossil fuels for fertilizer
manufacture)
Farmers can keep their fields under continuous production.
It enhances the productivity of the farmland.
It increases the per capita profitability.
Both farming’s complement each other.
It enhances the productivity of the farmer also.
